Today was the Bastille Day celebration in midtown again (where I shot the cancan dancer last time), and this gentleman proudly displayed one foot on either side of the pond.

Cold Spring fireworks

We spent the July 4th weekend in a small town a couple of hours north of NYC. Although their fireworks display may not have been on quite the same scale as the 5 barges on the west side of Manhattan, this tiny town made up for it with a festive community gala that brought together everyone within miles around!

The week leading up to the 4th of July is usually filled with fireworks on the west side - not quite as grand as the actual day, but still really beautiful.

An air show doesn't normally seem like a very NYC thing, but the Red Bull Air Race this weekend was a fun change of pace. We didn't venture into Jersey for a seat in the actual grandstands, but there was a pretty decent view from Battery Park.

One of my favorite things about the red rocks of the southwest is the way they constantly look different. Weather and lighting completely change the feel of an outcrop. It truly feels like the earth itself is alive here.

Apparently when Native Americans abandon their trading post and plant a big red flag on top, it is not a great idea to move in closer for photos.

Visiting Antelope Canyon feels like you've truly landed on another planet. As you wind your way through its narrow passages, each new twist is more breathtaking than the one before it.
