We've never visited a real western ghost town before, so we jumped at the opportunity to visit Nelson, NV. It's about an hour southeast of Vegas, and is quite a place. It's not exactly a big tourist draw, so it's pretty empty - except for the abandoned structures and cars littered everywhere.

On the way back from Quebec last weekend, we decided to stop in Burlington for another view of Lake Champlain. I was having some camera equipment issues, with some crazy vignetting throughout the frame. I thought about evening out the exposure in Photoshop, but in the end I decided that I actually liked the bit of imperfect character it's added.

A juggler in a Qu�bec park, after finishing her show. I love how the makeup and costume has so much more attention to detail - very much like Cirque Du Soleil.

Yesterday was a full moon night, but also very cloudy - making for a pretty dramatic setting. But I didn't realize how difficult it is to get a proper exposure of the moon if you also want the clouds to show up. I had to work all kinds of layer masking, curve bending, and compositing to get the final product.

A metal lamp with an old-style incandescent light bulb. The restaurant where I shot this actually has a whole bunch of these strung up. I want to go back and try shooting them again in a slightly different way.

I've got way too many sunset photos already, but there was another beautiful one tonight. The lighting and color changed every few minutes, but I was only able to take a few shots.

Take a stroll through the streets of Woodstock and you're likely to encounter Grandpa Woodstock, a hippie who apparently never really moved on. He rides an old bicycle, flashing the peace sign all over town and still preaching the message of love.
